Art Gallery

Welcome to the Goldthorn Art Gallery 2026, a showcase of the creativity, imagination and artistic talent of our pupils.

As part of our whole-school Art Week, children from Year 1 to Year 6 explored the vibrant theme of Colour, taking inspiration from a diverse range of artists from around the world. Each year group studied a different artist, learning about their life, style and techniques before creating original artwork inspired by their work. 

​

Throughout the week, pupils embarked on a creative journey that mirrored the work of real artists. They researched and evaluated artwork, developed their understanding of artistic vocabulary, experimented with new skills and techniques, and recorded their ideas and reflections in sketchbooks. Children explored colour mixing, pattern, texture, composition and a wide range of materials, including paint, pencils, pens, collage and mixed media.

This virtual gallery celebrates not only the final pieces on display, but also the artistic process behind them. As you browse, you will see photographs from sketchbooks, examples of skill development, and images of children working collaboratively and independently to bring their ideas to life. These snapshots capture the curiosity, resilience and creativity that were evident throughout the week.

We are incredibly proud of what our young artists have achieved. The work showcased here demonstrates confidence, individuality and a willingness to experiment, reflecting the rich and inspiring learning experiences that took place across the school.
