Red Nose Day 2026
What a fantastic Red Nose Day we had! The whole school was buzzing with laughter, colour, and pure, joyful silliness. Children (and plenty of adults!) arrived dressed in all sorts of brilliant outfits — from bright red clothes to wild hair, wacky socks, and even full-on silly costumes. Everyone brought in £1 for Comic Relief, helping to turn a day of fun into real support for those who need it most — providing food, safe places to sleep, and lives free from fear and harm. Our

Inspiring Futures: Our First Careers Fair!
Goldthorn Park hosted our first ever Career’s Fair for our Year 5 and 6 children. We had guests who represented different jobs and careers in school, to help our children understand how school skills connect to real life and to build curiosity and confidence about their future. We had members of the police and fire service, a make up artist, caterers, a salesperson, an NHS worker, a RSPCA officer, and a worker from the charity sector. Our children asked really insightful qu

Celebrating Mother’s Day in Reception
Thank you to all our families who joined us in Reception for our special Mother’s Day celebrations. The children loved crafting with you and sharing such a lovely time together. It was wonderful to see everyone getting creative and celebrating the special people in their lives.

Mother's Day Celebrations!
We had a wonderful time in Nursery celebrating Mother’s Day with our families. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout and to share the time together. The children were so excited to welcome their parents and carers into the setting. We enjoyed a range of creative activities that allowed everyone to spend quality time together while making something special. There was plenty of painting and collaging, with children proudly showing off their colourful creations. Families

More World Book Day Fun!
Year 3 Year 3 had a wonderfully inspiring World Book Day as they spent time learning about their chosen inspirational figure — Sir David Attenborough. Through engaging videos and a whole‑class reading session, the children explored his life, his passion for the natural world, and the many ways he has encouraged people across the globe to care for our planet. Motivated by all they had learned, the children wrote heartfelt letters to Sir David himself. Their teachers will be po

World Book Day!
What a wonderful week we have had celebrating World Book Day across the school! The children looked amazing in their costumes inspired by famous people linked to the Little People, Big Dreams books. It was wonderful to see so many inspirational figures brought to life around school. Our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils also enjoyed a fantastic author visit at the Grand Station, which was a great opportunity to hear about the writing process and be inspired to create their own storie

Storytime Across the School
As part of our World Book Day celebrations, classes across the school enjoyed special Storytime visit from different teachers. Throughout the morning, teachers travelled to a different classroom, sharing a favourite book and reading aloud to pupils. The children loved hearing stories read by new faces, and the visits helped create a wonderful buzz of excitement around reading. From picture books and adventures to funny tales and classics, each session gave pupils the chance t

Year 6 - Unleashing their Inner Creative Geniuses!
In celebration of World Book Day 2026 , Year 6 stepped into the iconic black turtleneck of Steve Jobs himself —well, metaphorically—and created their own high‑energy motivational speeches. With big imaginations, bold ideas, and a sprinkle of showmanship, the children set out to inspire young people everywhere to dream huge, invent wildly, and maybe even become the entrepreneurs who’ll create the next must‑have gadget (or save the world… no pressure!). Their speeches were pack

World Book Day 2026 – “Go All In for Reading!”
We started World Book Day 2026 with a fun and exciting assembly led by our Reading Champions . They talked to us about how important and enjoyable reading can be, and they encouraged everyone to “Go all in” for reading this year! The Reading Champions explained that reading helps us learn new things, discover amazing stories, and use our imaginations. They reminded us that books can take us anywhere—into space, underwater, into the past, or to magical worlds! They also challe

Celebrating Martisor
Children across the school have celebrated Martisor today. They have discussed the special celebration and shared what happens on the first day of Spring. Red marks life and warmth while white represents new beginnings. To mark this, children have made red and white bracelets. Year 1 Year 2 made flowers and bracelets to celebrate Martisor.
