To start our Day of Welcome, an annual school event that aims to build a culture of welcome, kindness and understanding for people seeking sanctuary, we were delighted to welcome Michael Rosen for a live online assembly.
Michael read his book The Big Journey, which follows Big Bear and Little Bear as they travel in search of a new home, showing great courage and resilience along the way. The story inspired thoughtful discussions about change, friendship, hope and the importance of supporting one another. The children thoroughly enjoyed hearing the story read by its author and engaged enthusiastically with the themes explored throughout the book.
