Pen Pal Excitment!
Year 4 were so excited to receive their letters from their Italian pen pals. It was wonderful to see the care and attention with which they opened and read their letter, truly appreciating the time and effort that had gone into them. The drawings and stickers were a particular highlight, bringing big smiles all around. The children are already eagerly looking forward to writing their replies!

Year 3 Eid Celebrations
As part of the Eid celebrations at Goldthorn, our Year 3 students explored the art of Arabic writing. They practised writing their names in a variety of styles, using pencils, pens, and decorative gold and silver pens, bringing creativity and personal flair to their work.

Learning About Eid
As part of our Eid assembly, both KS1 and KS2 learned about how this festival is celebrated within Muslim families locally, nationally, and globally. Pupils listened respectfully, asked thoughtful questions, and reflected on the significance of Eid, including themes of new beginnings, forgiveness, and personal growth.

Celebrating Martisor
Children across the school have celebrated Martisor today. They have discussed the special celebration and shared what happens on the first day of Spring. Red marks life and warmth while white represents new beginnings. To mark this, children have made red and white bracelets. Year 1 Year 2 made flowers and bracelets to celebrate Martisor. Celebrating Mărțișor
Today children are celebrating Mărțișor, a traditional spring festival widely observed in Romania. Year One Celebrates Chinese New Year
Year one enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year and marked this special occasion with a special family assembly. We invited parents and carers to come in to school and we shared information about this celebration along with lots of singing and dancing. We also shared some Bonfire pictures and decorative lanterns.

A Day of Light, Colour, and Joy: Our Diwali Celebration
Our school was filled with colour, music, and excitement as we celebrated Diwali – the Festival of Lights! Some of our children came dressed in beautiful traditional costumes, bringing a vibrant splash of culture to the day.
