Nursery
The children had a wonderful time during a treasure hunt in Nursery’s forest, searching high and low to discover the hidden treasure. They showed great excitement and enthusiasm as they explored the outdoor area together.
After the hunt, the children worked collaboratively to create their very own class map. Each child decorated their own house and added it to a street map. Using their imaginations, they also drew extra features such as trees, cars, swings, ponds and much more, making the map unique and full of creativity.
Reception
Reception went outside to explore the school grounds. Afterwards, we sat together and drew a map of the school.
In Year 1 children enjoyed locating and labelling the countries of the UK, as well as the continents and oceans, on a world map.
Year 4
Year 4 became ‘traffic detectives’ to investigate just how busy our local roads really are! We collected data using tally charts and then worked out the average results to create bar charts for three different times of the morning. We discussed possible reasons for the differences, including how roads become busier closer to school drop-off times and during lunchtime periods.
