World Book Day!

Updated: Mar 13

What a wonderful week we have had celebrating World Book Day across the school!

The children looked amazing in their costumes inspired by famous people linked to the Little People, Big Dreams books. It was wonderful to see so many inspirational figures brought to life around school.

Our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils also enjoyed a fantastic author visit at the Grand Station, which was a great opportunity to hear about the writing process and be inspired to create their own stories.

Across the school, each year group has completed some fantastic work linked to their chosen texts, and we have loved sharing stories together during special story time sessions.

The week also included a visit to the Book Fair, where many children had the chance to explore new books and discover their next favourite read.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a memorable celebration of reading!

Year One read 'Mary Anning' from the book collection, Little People Big Dreams.

They enjoyed learning all about her life and how she was a determined young lady! She worked hard to achieve her hopes and dreams.

The children followed up this learning with writing a little bit about her life and then went on to share their hopes and dreams for when they grow up! 🙂
