Creative Fun with Rose Gerrard
Some children from Year 1 and 2 got to meet the illustrator - Rose Gerrard! We all got a signed book of Plants need friends too, Rose’s most recent illustrated book. The publishers read the book to the children and taught them a lovely plant song. Rose also demonstrated how to draw some main characters from the book and the children got to draw along with her! We had a lovely afternoon and Goldthorn was complimented on their brilliant illustrations!

Live Assembly with Michael Rosen

Spring Production - Dragon Days!
What an incredible performance Years 3 and 4 put on in their spring production of Dragon Days ! The children have worked so hard over the past weeks, and it truly showed on stage—their singing, acting, and confidence were fantastic, and the whole show wouldn’t have been out of place on a West End stage. They were absolutely amazing, and we are so proud of each and every one of them for creating such a memorable performance.

Year 1 Visit Our Local Library
Year one walked to our local library to promote our love for reading. We met the librarian and she gave us a tour of the library and shared some stories with us. We joined in with the actions and made a mask based on the 'Super Wolf' story. We can't wait to use our new library memberships to borrow books with our families! Well done year one, we were really impressed with your manners - you represented Goldthorn Park beautifully.

World Book Day!
What a wonderful week we have had celebrating World Book Day across the school! The children looked amazing in their costumes inspired by famous people linked to the Little People, Big Dreams books. It was wonderful to see so many inspirational figures brought to life around school. Storytime Across the School
As part of our World Book Day celebrations, classes across the school enjoyed special Storytime visit from different teachers. Instruction Writing in Year 1

Year 6 meet Author Holly Webb
Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic opportunity this week as they travelled to Wolverhampton Grammar School to meet the much‑loved children’s author Holly Webb. Year 2 Launch Their New Book with a Cosy Pyjama Day!
Year 2 pupils came to school in their pyjamas to celebrate the start of their new class book, Couch Potato by Jory John. The cosy day helped create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for reading and discussion. Children explored the importance of mindfulness and exercise.
