Instruction Writing in Year 1

 Children in Year 1 have been learning about the features of instructional writing. They explored how instructions include a title, a list of equipment, and clear step-by-step directions.

The children then wrote their own set of instructions for how to make a paper plate dinosaur. They worked hard to make sure their steps were clear and in the correct order.

To test their work, the children followed the instructions they had written to create their very own paper plate dinosaurs! They had great fun bringing their writing to life and were very proud to see that their instructions really worked.
