During Year 2's visit to the Black Country Living Museum, we focused on Art and Design. The children learned how artists use the foreground, midground and background to make their pictures look interesting and full of depth. We explored the museum setting and talked about what we could see in the front, middle and back of the scene. The children then thought carefully about where to place different parts in their own artwork to help their pictures stand out and look realistic.
The children also had the opportunity to see what life was like in the past. They explored the museum’s historic buildings and learned about how people used to live and work many years ago.
