Fire Safety in Year 4

Our Year 4 pupils had an exciting and informative visit from the SPARKS team, where they learned all about fire safety and how to stay safe in everyday situations.

During the session, the children discovered just how quickly a fire can spread and discussed common hazards that can be found in the home. They also learned the importance of having working smoke alarms and how these can save lives.

The team didn’t just focus on fire safety—they also shared valuable advice about water safety and road safety, helping pupils understand how to stay safe in different environments.

The highlight of the visit was getting hands-on! Pupils had the opportunity to use a real fire hose and even climb inside the fire engine to see all the equipment firefighters use. It was a fantastic experience that brought their learning to life.
