Our Year 6 children took part in informative and supportive puberty sessions led by our school nurses. These sessions focused on helping children understand the physical and emotional changes that occur as they grow older, providing a safe space to ask questions and build confidence.
The children explored how different parts of the brain work, and how this can influence feelings, decision-making, and behaviour. Important topics such as risk-taking, peer pressure, worries, and the impact of positive and negative influences were discussed in an age-appropriate and engaging way.
These sessions aim to equip pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to make safe, healthy choices as they move towards adolescence and secondary school.
