Strings and Smiles: Year 4’s Violin Showcase

Our talented Year 4 pupils wowed parents and staff alike during their end-of-year violin concert. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to showcase all they have learned throughout the year during their weekly 45-minute lessons with Mrs Barratt from Wolverhampton Music School.

Over the course of the year, the children have gained a wealth of musical knowledge and practical skills. They have learnt how to care for their violins, how to hold them correctly, and how to produce beautiful sounds using both pizzicato (plucking the strings) and the bow. In addition, they’ve made great strides in reading musical notation – a key part of developing as confident and independent musicians.
