Goldthorn Park Welcomes the Commonwealth Games Baton 2026

This morning, Goldthorn Park had the honour of receiving the Commonwealth Games baton 2026, delivered personally by the children of St Luke’s Primary School. Our Welcome Committee greeted them proudly at the front gates before inviting them to enjoy refreshments of cake, cookies, and cold drinks,  a warm and delicious start to the celebration.

The rest of Goldthorn lined the pathway, waving flags, cheering, and filling the air with music and the vibrant rhythm of dhol drumming. The atmosphere was electric, full of excitement and community spirit.

It was a morning to remember, creating a real buzz across the whole school as we celebrated our part in the Commonwealth Games baton 2026 journey.
