Year 4 Art

As part of our ‘Under the Canopy’ topic, this week Year 4 have started our Rainforest Art unit. We began by exploring how artists have been inspired by the rainforest and discussing the key features and composition of different pieces of artwork. The children carefully observed colour, texture and detail before selecting a small section of an artwork to focus on. They then practised their observation and sketching skills, as well as shading and blending colours, to recreate their chosen section. We were very impressed with the concentration and creativity shown throughout the lesson.
