Pancake Day in EYFS!
We have had the best ever pancake day at school! We all made pancake batter together, talking about different ingredients we were using. We made eggless pancakes which the children said tasted soooooo delicious! We poured our pancake batter into the pan onto the fire. We learnt how heat can cook and change food. The children then chose their own toppings and asked for more! The children were excellent at flipping the pancakes too!

Dress to Express
Children’s Mental Health Week provides an important chance to reflect on how we all look after our mental and emotional health. Throughout the week, children have taken part in activities linked to wellbeing, self-expression, and understanding what helps them feel grounded and supported. To celebrate the end of the week, children have Dressed to Express!

The Big Sing-a-Long
As part of Children’s Mental Health Week our children took part in The Big Sing-A-Long. There is a wealth of evidence showing the positive impact that singing has on wellbeing, and we were delighted to join this uplifting event. This year’s theme, “This is My Place,” encouraged children to express themselves, celebrate their individuality, and enjoy the power of music together.

Year One Celebrates Chinese New Year
Year one enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year and marked this special occasion with a special family assembly. We invited parents and carers to come in to school and we shared information about this celebration along with lots of singing and dancing. We also shared some Bonfire pictures and decorative lanterns.

Year 6 meet Author Holly Webb
Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic opportunity this week as they travelled to Wolverhampton Grammar School to meet the much‑loved children’s author Holly Webb. The visit was an inspiring experience for the children, who were excited to hear Holly speak about her writing journey, where her story ideas come from, and how she develops the characters that so many young readers adore. Year 3 Step Back in Time to Ancient Greece
Year 3 enjoyed an unforgettable visit from Humph Histories to deepen their understanding of Ancient Greece and bring our Athens vs Sparta topic to life. The day was packed with laughter, hands‑on learning, and plenty of teamwork as children explored the lasting legacy of this fascinating civilisation. Reception Teddy Bears' Picnic
Reception had a lovely time enjoying their Teddy Bears’ Picnic! The children shared fruit and milk, drew pictures of their own teddy bear picnics, and even read stories to their bears.

Year 5 Step Back in Time with a Roman Historian
Today, Year 5 were delighted to welcome a Roman historian- Professor McGinty’s. The children learnt about Roman clothing, culture, architecture, daily life, and even unusual foods. During the visit the children handled real artefacts from Roman times, which really brought history to life.

Land Ahoy! Year 2 Sets Sail on a Pirate Inspiration Day
Year 2 took part in a Pirates Inspiration Day for their new topic ‘Land Ahoy’, and English book ‘The Pirates Next door’. Pupils came into school dressed as pirates or in pirate colours and took part in lots of activities during the day; such as making pirate hats and learning to draw pictures of pirates. Pupils also took part in a Pirate Dance in the afternoon, in which they learn to sing a shanty, learnt a pirate dance and came up with their own using common pirate actions.

Barmy Bethlehem
We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part in this year’s Key Stage 1 Christmas production, Barmy Bethlehem. Every pupil sang and performed beautifully, filling the hall with festive cheer and getting us all into the Christmas spirit.

Farm Visit
Early Years had a fabulous afternoon when a farm came to visit—along with a very special Christmas guest! The children enjoyed getting up close and personal with a variety of animals and loved learning all about them. It was an exciting, hands-on experience that brought plenty of smiles.

Santa Dash 2025!
Goldthorn Park children embraced the Daily Mile today! With smiles on their faces and energy in their stride, they proved that a short burst of activity can make a big difference. The playground was buzzing with determination as children jogged, ran, and walked together, showing that fitness can be fun and achievable for everyone.

Penn Puppets
What a fantastic opportunity our children had today, watching a wonderful Christmas puppet performance from Penn Puppets! The show was full of festive fun, music and laughter, and our pupils were absolutely captivated from start to finish. “It was the best!” said Gurshaan from Reception — and we couldn’t agree more!

Our Royal Ball
We had a wonderful time learning all about our story Cinderella. The children designed their own ballroom outfit, drew themselves in there special party wear, learnt all about castles and made their own castles using different building materials. We even learnt how to ballroom dance and enjoyed a royal banquet.

Year 4’s Dudley Canal Adventure
What a wonderful day Year 4 had today visiting Dudley Canal and caverns! The children were tremendously well behaved, and listened attentively. They learnt about the Industrial revolution, the importance of our canal network for trade, took part in a boat ride inside the caverns, undertook workshops, visited a museum on board a boat, and learnt about water safety.

Year 6 Step Back in Time!
Last week, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Blists Hill Victorian Town as part of their history learning. The children spent the day exploring what life was really like in the Victorian era and were amazed at how different it was from today! A Magical Musical Journey with The Stringcredibles
We were very lucky to welcome The Stringcredibles — a quartet of world-class orchestral musicians — and Nate Holder, a professional saxophonist and award-winning author!
