Headteacher's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
We’ve had a fantastic week of learning and celebration across the school!
Today, we joined schools across Europe in celebrating European Day of Languages. Pupils enjoyed exploring different languages and cultures through songs, storytelling, and creative activities. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and appreciation for the rich diversity around us.
We’re also looking forward to a busy and exciting week ahead:
Our Year 6 pupils are preparing for their residential trip, where they’ll take part in outdoor adventures, team-building activities, and create lasting memories.
Years 2 and 3 will be heading to the theatre for a live performance that links beautifully with their current learning.
Year 2 will also enjoy a special visit from a children’s illustrator, offering a hands-on creative experience to inspire their storytelling and artistic skills.
A huge thank you to all our parents and carers for your continued support—whether it’s helping with homework, attending events, or simply encouraging your child’s learning journey. Your involvement makes a real difference, and we truly value the partnership we share.
Kind Regards,
Mrs R. Purshouse
Headteacher
Welcome to this Year’s Reading Champions!

We are delighted to introduce our new Reading Champions, who will be helping to share their love of reading across the school. Throughout the year, they will take on the exciting role of organising reading events, promoting books, and encouraging everyone to discover the joy of reading.
At Goldthorn Park, we believe that reading is at the heart of learning – and with the support of our champions, we know this year will be filled with wonderful reading opportunities for all.

Attendance Matters...

Regular attendance at school is vital for every child’s learning and development. Research shows a clear link between low attendance and lower academic achievement. At Goldthorn Park Primary School, we are committed to supporting all our children and their families to ensure pupils are in school, on time, every day.
If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance, please contact the school so we can work together to provide support. Attendance below 96% is considered low, and children with attendance below 90% are classed as Persistently Absent. Let’s work together to give every child the best chance to succeed.
