Headteacher's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

today, our children enjoyed a wonderful GOLDEN Celebration Day, organised to recognise and celebrate the exceptional way they live out our GOLDEN values every day.

The celebration was a well-deserved reward for all of their hard work, excellent behaviour, respect and determination. Our children consistently impress us with their politeness, positive attitudes and commitment to learning, and today's activities were an opportunity to acknowledge everything they have achieved.

We are especially proud that the children have played such an important part in the school's recent success. Their conduct, attitudes to learning and the way they embody our values were instrumental in achieving our strong OFSTED outcomes. They showcased everything that makes Goldthorn Park such a special place to learn and grow.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the day, and it was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces celebrating together. They should all be incredibly proud of themselves, as should their families.

As a school, we are immensely proud of every child and grateful for the continued support of our parents and carers in helping us nurture such respectful, hardworking and caring young people.

Thank you for your ongoing support. By working together, we can ensure that every child enjoys a successful and rewarding year at Goldthorn Park Primary School.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs R. Purshouse

Headteacher

Together we learn, lead and grow.

Black History Month - Honouring Our Communities

Throughout October, pupils at Goldthorn Park have celebrated Black History Month through this year's theme, "Honouring Our Communities."

Children explored the contributions of Black individuals and communities across the curriculum, including studying Black authors in Reading and Writing, learning about influential Black musicians in Music, and drawing inspiration from talented Black artists in Art.

The month provided opportunities for pupils to learn about diversity, inclusion and the positive impact that everyday people have on our communities. Activities culminated in a special Day of Celebration, where children enjoyed music, dance, art and learning about inspirational role models.

We are proud of the rich diversity within our school and the way our children embrace and celebrate both our similarities and differences. At Goldthorn Park, every child is encouraged to share their voice, respect others and take pride in the unique qualities that make our community so special.

Thank you to our families for supporting our Black History Month celebrations and Wear Red Day, helping us reinforce the important values of equality, respect and inclusion. 🌍🖤💛❤️💚

Year 5 Programming

Children in Year 5 had a fun day of Physical coding computing. During the day, children created and tested their own programs, developed their problem-solving skills and learned how coding can be used to control physical devices.

Wolverhampton Safeguarding Together

Understanding exploitation Online awareness session for parents and carers.

Wolverhampton’s Partnership Exploitation and Missing Hub welcomes parents and carers to an online awareness session to help you understand exploitation — a form of ‘harm outside the home’ that can happen online or in the community.

What will we cover?

• What exploitation is and how it can happen, both online and in the community.

• Signs to look out for that may suggest your child or the child you care for needs help or support.

• How to talk with your child / the child you care for about exploitation and keep conversations open.

• What to do if you are worried, which services can support you and your family, and how to access help.

You do not need to have a specific concern to join. This session is about building understanding, knowing what to look out for and finding support if you need it.

Please note : you only need to attend one session. Please book onto whichever session is most convenient for you.

Attendance Matters

Regular attendance plays a vital role in every child’s learning, wellbeing and success. At Goldthorn Park Primary School, we work in partnership with families to ensure that children attend regularly, arrive on time and are ready to make the most of every learning opportunity.

We are delighted to see an improvement in attendance across the school and would like to thank all parents and carers for their continued support and commitment. Your efforts make a real difference, helping children to achieve their best both academically and socially.

Our school attendance target is 96% or above each week. Achieving this target helps children benefit from uninterrupted learning, build strong friendships and develop positive habits that will support them throughout their education and beyond.

As part of our ongoing commitment to raising standards, we will continue to work closely with families to reduce lost learning caused by absence and to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to thrive.

Thank you for your support and for helping to improve attendance across our school. Keep it up! Together, we can make every day count and give every child the best chance to succeed.
