Headteacher's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
The start of the school year has been a fantastic one, and I would like to thank all parents and carers for your continued support. In particular, thank you for prioritising your child’s

attendance. Our recent Ofsted inspection highlighted the importance of ensuring that every child is in school every day, and your commitment helps us to minimise lost learning and maximise opportunities for every pupil to succeed. Attendance | Goldthorn Park
I would also like to thank families for the high standards of school uniform we see each day. Our children look incredibly smart and represent the school with pride. As a reminder, nail varnish is not permitted in school, and we would appreciate your support in ensuring that children attend in line with our uniform expectations. Uniform | Goldthorn Park

A reminder that Parents' Evening will take place before the half-term break. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child's progress and celebrate their achievements. If you have not yet done so, please book your appointment through Arbor.
Finally, we kindly ask all parents and carers to check and update their contact details, permissions and

consent preferences on Arbor. Accurate information is essential to help us communicate effectively and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children.
Thank you for your ongoing support. By working together, we can ensure that every child enjoys a successful and rewarding year at Goldthorn Park Primary School.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs R. Purshouse
Headteacher
Together we learn, lead and grow.
Curriculum celebrations
Inspired by street art, Year 6 created eye-catching murals to promote social issues important to them. Their artwork used colour, imagery and symbolism to communicate meaningful messages and encourage positive change. Year 6 Art with a Message!
In Science this week, Year 6 investigated the components of blood and their important roles in the body. Using everyday materials, they created fantastic blood models to demonstrate their understanding of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma.'🩸🔬🧪
Pupil voice: "I didn't realise that blood was made up of different parts. The model helped me remember what each one does." - Daniel
"I enjoyed making the blood model because it made the science easier to understand and more fun." - Ria
"I was surprised to learn that white blood cells help protect us from illnesses and infections." - Deep
Year 5 enjoyed investigating the properties of materials. By carrying out practical tests, they developed their scientific skills while learning how materials are selected for different uses.
Attendance Matters

Regular attendance is key to children’s learning, wellbeing and success. At Goldthorn Park Primary School, we work closely with families to ensure every child attends regularly, arrives on time and is ready to learn.
Our school attendance target is 96% or above each week. Achieving this helps children benefit from uninterrupted learning, maintain strong friendships and develop positive habits for the future.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we are working closely with families to reduce lost learning caused by term-time absence and to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to succeed.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can make every day count and help every child thrive.
