Autumn Term 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

a big thank you to our families and carers for all of the continued support you offer school from supporting your child with homework to upholding our smart uniforms and ensuring your children are in school on time each day. Our partnership means our children will achieve. Thank you!

At Goldthorn Park Primary we make every attempt to support our families for the benefit of our wonderful pupils. As a school we are enrolled with the Magic Breakfast charity who part fund our morning bagel or toast offer. This is a universal offer for all of the children in school to be provided with a free breakfast every day. We are happy to report that we have been accepted for another years provision - yum yum!

We are also incredibly proud to share that we have been reaccredited with the School of Sanctuary Mark for our work on celebrating our community's diversity and welcoming all of our children and their families to develop a strong sense of belonging. After a tour around our school, meeting with teachers and meeting with pupils the assessors were impressed with how kind-hearted, polite and hard-working our children are and how the adults clearly have the children at the heart of the decisions made to improve school. Kindness spreads!

The children enjoyed exploring the theme of 'RESPECT' through our anti-bullying week in November. The children explored key differences between friendship fall outs and bullying behaviour. We have used the acronym STOP! Several Times On Purpose to support with this.

Autumn term's book fair raised £558 which means school we be given £223 to put towards books for our school library. A big thank you to our families who have been able to support the book fair this term.

Yesterday, KS2 pupils enjoyed a professional pantomime experience of 'Scroogical' in our school hall. This performance brought the story of Charles Dicken's, A Christmas Carol, to life. The children were spell-bound by the actors story-telling and thoroughly enjoyed the audience participation. Thank you to our parents who have supported payment of this. At Goldthorn Park we always try to supplement the cost of trips, visitors and experiences to reduce the cost to parents and maximise the opportunities for our children.

Thank you to all of our families for your continued support.

Best wishes,

Mrs R. Purshouse
