Creative Fun with Rose Gerrard
Some children from Year 1 and 2 got to meet the illustrator - Rose Gerrard! We all got a signed book of Plants need friends too, Rose’s most recent illustrated book. The publishers read the book to the children and taught them a lovely plant song. Rose also demonstrated how to draw some main characters from the book and the children got to draw along with her! Heathly Eating in Reception!
As part of Healthy Eating Week, Reception enjoyed a hands-on fruit tasting session. The children carefully cut up their own fruit before enjoying a special fruit and milk snack together. Refugee Week - Visit to the Civic Centre
Two children attended the Refugee Week celebration at the Civic Centre, where they proudly showcased a selection of children’s work based on the theme of courage. The display included a range of thoughtful poems and creative artwork that reflected the children's understanding of courage. Goldthorn Park Welcomes the Commonwealth Games Baton 2026
This morning, Goldthorn Park had the honour of receiving the Commonwealth Games baton 2026, delivered personally by the children of St Luke’s Primary School. Our Welcome Committee greeted them proudly at the front gates before inviting them to enjoy refreshments of cake, cookies, and cold drinks, a warm and delicious start to the celebration. A Healthy Eating Week to Remember!
As part of Healthy Eating Week, children enjoyed a fantastic and very entertaining assembly delivered by Chef Tony. A Tasty Design & Technology Challenge in Year 6!
As part of Healthy Eating Week 2026, our Year 6 pupils took part in an exciting Design & Technology lesson focused on creating their own vegetable kebabs. Year 1 Royal Garden Party
Year 1 celebrated the end of their topic ‘Royal Patrons’ by taking part in a Royal Garden Party. The children wore red, white and blue and invited a special guest to their party, their favourite teddy! They completed their learning about Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II, designed and made their own crowns in the morning. World Environment Day!
We were delighted to welcome families into school for our World Environmental Day Workshop, where children and parents came together to celebrate and care for our wonderful planet. A highlight of the event was hearing the children confidently share a range of fascinating facts about our environmental impact, demonstrating their growing knowledge and passion for protecting the Earth. Fun at Darts Club
Our children have been thoroughly enjoying taking part in Darts Club this term. The club provides a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their concentration, coordination and accuracy while having fun with their friends. PCSO Visits Year 3
Year 3 had a very informative visit from our local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), who came to talk to the children about bullying and cyberbullying. Year 4 Rainforest Art
As part of our ‘Under the Canopy’ topic, Year 4 have continued to develop their artistic skills. Throughout the unit, we have explored a range of techniques including frottage, sketching and painting to create rainforest-inspired artwork.
